The Cleveland Browns left the door open.
The Miami Dolphins stormed right in and said thank you very much.
On Tuesday, the Dolphins claimed offensive lineman Cole Strange off the Browns' practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Strange is a former first-round pick of the New England Patriots, and he'll get a chance at a revenge game this weekend when the Dolphins take on the Pats.

The Browns had only signed Strange in late August after the Patriots released him.
Strange was a first-round pick in 2022, No. 29 overall out of Chattanooga.
He appeared in 30 career games for the Pats, 29 of them starts.
Injuries did limit the guard to three games in 2024, which didn't help his cause.
It still seemed a bit odd that the Pats just let him go freely.

Strange, who measures up at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, turned 27 years old at the end of July.
New England clearly decided he was a lost cause.
The Browns liked him enough to bring him into the building, but they didn't have space on the active roster, which left open the chance of another team claiming him off the practice squad.
The Dolphins have had a couple injuries that forced a move, and they won't mind getting a 2022 first-rounder on their roster. Maybe they can unlock Strange's potential.
